A beautiful evening in pune

Last evening we experienced moderate amount of rain in Pune. It was mostly sunny during the day with the temperature rising from 27 degrees celsius in the morning to 33 degrees in the afternoon. Later it was mostly cloudy and by 6:15 in the evening it started pouring. The atmosphere suddenly turned a bit cool with the wind blowing along with the rain. O what a beautiful evening it was!
 
I started wondering what causes rain? How do rain clouds form? From where does the water fall? How do the colors of a rainbow appear in the sky? What causes thunder and lightning? I am sure that a science encyclopedia would help me answer these questions. But today internet has answers to almost everything. Though I have the urge to find out everything and write down in this post, I will have to write several different posts to explain each topic simply because of lack of time.

So today let's just understand the water cycle.
